Questions That You May Have

(1)  I sent in my money, but I haven’t received a confirmation yet.

Answer:  Your receipt should be in the mail with 7 days of my receiving your
       payment.

(2)  Can I reach you by telephone?

Answer:  Yes, I can be reached during the day, Tuesday through Friday at
       828-464-7673 or at 828-461-7544.

(3)  How will I know if a class has been cancelled?

Answer:  The State Board requires that there must be at least 4 persons
registered for a class, or the class will be cancelled.  I will inform you if such a
       cancellation is required.

(4)  What entitles me to a refund?

        Answer:  If you call to cancel your enrollment seven days prior to the class;
or if the class has been cancelled and we are unable to reschedule you for a
       different date.

(5)  Am I required to pre-register or can I register at the door?

Answer:  I prefer that all students pre-register; this will guarantee you a place
in the class and also enables me to have adequate materials for each student.
However, pre-registration may not be possible for someone, so at-the-door
registration is permitted, but only if there is still room in the class.  For that
reason, I strongly encourage pre-registration for everyone.

(6)  How long are these classes?

Answer:  Each class is set up on a one-day schedule.  The session on Hair
Characteristics is scheduled to run from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon, and the
session on Help My Business Please runs from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm

(7)  Why are we required to take classes?

Answer:  The State Board now requires that you receive eight hours of
education each year. This helps to guarantee that those of us engaged in the
beauty industry are knowledgeable and are receiving the education necessary to
       secure and maintain professionalism.

(8)  Do you take payment by credit card?

Answer:  On this site, you will find a button labeled “Pay Pal”, which will enable
you to pay by credit card.

(9)  Do our educational hours carry over?

Answer:  If you are a manicurist or an esthetician, the answer is No.  If you are
a Cosmetologist, the answer is Yes, and you are required to accumulate 24
hours within a three-year period for your next renewal.  Hours gained outside of
that three-year period cannot be carried over.

(10) Where are these classes held?

Answer:  All classes are posted on the website as well as being distributed
through various mailings.  You will find the class schedule on this website.  It is
suggested that you print a copy for your future reference; however, please
check the website often, since the schedules are updated periodically.

(11) What if my education hours are incomplete when it is time for my renewal?

Answer:  If you do not have the adequate number of instructional hours, you
will not be able to renew.  The only exception is for those persons aged 60 and
over who have worked in the business for more than ten years.  If you do not
renew, the fine is $250, in addition to taking continuing education hours.  If you
have other questions on this topic, please refer to the State Board’s website
